under Mission Shakti Doda along with DLSA organizes One day Workshop on "Legal Rights of women"
DHEW Doda in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority Doda today on 12 October organized a Day Long legal awareness programme to sensitize the women about their Rights.
The event was held at Buttla Panchayat, and participants included local rural, SC and ST women, ASHA, and AWWs. Resource person advocate Divya Kotwal educated the participants on various women's rights. She also emphasised the Legal Rights of Women and the Prevention and Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls.
Dr.Sanya khan Gender specialist imparted awareness regarding various schemes implemented by Govt for the welfare of women. She also stressed the role of women and spoke about the Legal Rights of Women, Role of Para-Legal volunteers, Legal Aid Clinics, Services available for women folk at DLSAs of UT of J&K & other parts of Country .She also emphasized that women need to be confident in empowering themselves as they are the one who shape the society.
Kewal Krishan, DMC threw light on importance of women rights.He also discussed the issues faced by the Women and enlightened the gathering about various Welfare Schemes launched by the Government for their empowerment.
Sandihya Thakur,CA, OSC Doda also explained how OSC works and their services.
Free sanitary napkins were also distributed to women, and a number of cases were registered and will be forwarded to the relevant department soon.
