DODA POLICE FOILED FOUR SUCCESSIVE BOVINE SMUGGLING BIDS: 62 BOVINES RESCUED, 14 ACCUSED ARRESTED, 02 VEHICLES SEIZED

          Continuing its efforts against bovine smuggling, Doda Police foiled 04 successive smuggling attempts 02 in the jurisdictions of Dessa area and  02 in Doda area. 

           While giving detail,  officials sources has said that on 25-05-2025 Police party of PS Dessa rescued 22 bovine from the clutches of Abdul Gani, Abdul Rashid Muneer Hussain, Manzoor Ahmed all sons of Mohd Kala R/O Kunda Malan and Abbid Hussain S/O Abdul Qayoom R/O Dhandal Kashtigarh Doda at Dogadda Brahamdhar area of PS Dessa. The bovine were being smuggled to Kashmir Valley without any permission and in a cruel manner.  A case FIR No 07/2025 US 223 BNS, 11PC Act stands registered at PS Deesa. Today on 26-05-2025 police party of PS Dessa  was on patrolling duty in Gutul area of Dessa. The Police party intercepted five persons namely Mohd Shafi S/O Ab Kareem (2) Noorani Chowhan S/O Ghulam Mohd (3) Abdul Gani S/O Kareem (4) Mohd Rafi S/O Qassim (5) Ali Mohd S/O Hisham Din all Resident of Nicha Kuchaal Kishtwar along with 33 bovine animal. During enquiry, these persons did not give any satisfactory reply and failed to produce any kind of valid permission regarding movement these bovine animals towards Kashmir Valley without proper permission and arrangements of food and water. Accordingly, cognizable has been taken and FIR No 08/2025  U/S 223 BNS, 11 PC Act got registered at PS Dessa and these persons have been arrested besides bovine animal have been rescued from the clutches of these smugglers.  

A Naka for checking of vehicles was established at Pul Doda by police party of Police post Pul Doda. During checking one vehicle, Mahindra pick up bearing registration number JK 06C/4056 which was coming from Kishtwar side was signal to stop  which was checked at found loaded with 03 bovine animals. Two persons namely Asif Hussain S/O Mohd Shafi R/O Trown and Aqib Hussain S/O Javaid Hussain R/O Nalwa Doda,  who were travelling in the above said vehicle failed to produce any kind of permission regarding transportation of these bovine. Upon this , FIR No. 127/2025 U/S 223 BNS, 11 PC Act got registered PS Doda.   

Another bovine smuggling bid foiled in Bajarni area of Doda where police party during naka checking intercepted a vehicle bearing registration No JK06C 3591 which was stopped and during checking found 04 bovine loaded in the vehicle in a cruled manner. The vehicle was being driven by Mohd Rafiq S/O Gh Ali R/O Dali and   co-passanger was Ashiq Hussain S/O Mohd Iqbal Naik R/O Dashnan Doda. They failedto produced any valid permission for transportation of these bovine.   Accordingly case FIR No 128/2025, U/S 223 BNS 11 PC Act registered at PS Doda. Investigation of all  the cases has taken up.
