Doda Police Cracks Temple Burglary Case Within 24 Hours – Stolen Items Recovered, One Accused Arrested

Doda, November 6, 2025:

Demonstrating prompt and effective investigation, Doda Police successfully cracked a temple burglary case within 24 hours of its reporting.

On the basis of a written complaint submitted by Sh. Rajesh Kumar S/o Krishan Lal R/o Golibagh, Doda, regarding the theft of valuables from a local temple, a case FIR No. 252/2025 U/S 331(4)/305 BNS was registered at Police Station Doda.

Acting on the directions of *SSP Doda Sh. Sandeep Mehta, JKPS,* a special investigation team was constituted, led by SHO Doda Inspector Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Doda Sh. Krishan Rattan.

During the course of investigation, several suspects were rounded up and questioned. After sustained efforts, the team apprehended one suspect, identified as Illyas Ahmed Shan S/o Gh. Modiud Din R/o Shahpura, Ganika, Doda. During sustained questioning, the accused confessed his involvement in the commission of the offence. On his disclosure, police recovered the stolen temple property, which included 03 copper bells and 02 silver canopies (chhatar).

The swift and coordinated action of Doda Police led to the detection of the case and recovery of stolen property within 24 hours, showcasing the department’s commitment to maintaining law and order, and ensuring the safety, security, and justice for the citizens of Doda district.
