Gurmeet Dutta, Working Chairman of ADAPMA, Urges Media to Uphold IT Guidelines and Media Ethics
Jammu, November 13, 2025:
Gurmeet Dutta, the Working Chairman of the All Digital and Print Media Association (ADAPMA), has issued a strong appeal to all digital and print media organizations across the country to strictly adhere to the IT Guidelines 2021 and Media Ethics Rules.
In his recent statement, Mr. Dutta emphasized the crucial role responsible journalism plays in sustaining public trust and safeguarding democratic values, especially amid the growing challenges of misinformation and external pressures.
“The integrity of our media is fundamental to a healthy democracy. All media outlets must fully comply with the IT Guidelines of 2021 and strictly observe the Media Ethics Rules to prevent misinformation and manipulative practices,” said Gurmeet Dutta. “It is our collective responsibility to uphold standards of accuracy, fairness, and independence.”
Highlighting the importance of the recent IT Rules, Mr. Dutta noted that these regulations ensure transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct across digital platforms. The rules mandate the establishment of grievance redressal mechanisms and encourage resistance to undue influence from unscrupulous entities or political pressure groups that could compromise media independence.
The ADAPMA leadership reaffirmed its commitment to supporting media professionals by providing a dedicated platform for queries, complaints, and legal guidance. Media organizations are encouraged to use the official ADAPMA website to report unethical practices and seek clarifications on compliance matters.
“The role of a responsible media cannot be overstated,” Mr. Dutta added. “We must stand united against fake companies and political pressure groups attempting to manipulate narratives. Maintaining ethical integrity and using formal channels to raise concerns are essential to strengthening our democracy and ensuring the trust of the people we serve.”
ADAPMA’s call for vigilance and compliance aligns with national efforts to combat misinformation, hate speech, and cyber threats, while promoting responsible digital journalism. Under the leadership of Gurmeet Dutta, ADAPMA continues to reinforce the importance of ethical practices and legal compliance among media organizations nationwide.
