Kulgam Police arrested two persons and seized a tractor and a JCB machine involved in Illegal extraction and transportation of mining minerals

Continuing its drive against persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of mining minerals, Kulgam police has arrested two persons and seized a tractor and a JCB machine.

Acting promptly upon a specific information generated from credible sources regarding extraction and transportation of mining minerals in the jurisdiction of police station Behibagh, accordingly a special team led by *SHO Police Station Behibagh* was constituted who reached the suspected location where on spot two persons along with their *JCB machine and a Tractor* were indulged in illegal extraction and transportation of mining minerals from the *Nallah at Munnad*. Both the persons (drivers) whose identity was ascertained as:-

*1. Irfan Ahmad Khawja S/O Ali Mohammad Khawja R/O Poonch* and

*2. Yawer Ahmad S/O Nazir Ahmad R/O Gopalpora* were arrested and the *JCB machine and tractor* involved in the said crime were seized.

In this regard, a case  *FIR No. 32/2023* under relevant sections of law stands registered at *police station Behibagh* and investigation is in progress.

People are requested not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is the violation of Government rules. Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law.
