*KULGAM POLICE ARRESTED FIVE GAMBLERS; STAKE MONEY OF ₹11000 SEIZED*

Continuing its drive against social crimes, kulgam police acting swiftly upon a specific information generated from reliable sources regarding Gambling in the juridiction of Police Station Devsar, A Police party headed by SHO Devsar raided a suspected gambling site at *Sopat* and apprehended following gamblers whose identity has been ascertained as:

1. *Sabzar Ahmad Sheikh S/O Bashir Ahmad Sheikh R/O YK Pora*.
 
2. *Tariq Ahmad Khan S/O Mohd Yousuf Khan R/O Shali Qazigund*.
 
3. *Manzoor Ahmad Shah S/O Mohd Rafiq Shah R/O Sursun, Batingoo*.

4. *Wajood Ahmad Ganie S/O Mohd Jabbar Ganie R/O Banghall* and 

5. *Suhail Ahmad Ganie S/O Mushtaq Ahmad Ganie R/O Banghall*

From the spot stake money of *Rs 11000*, *05 mobile phones* and a *set of playing cards* were recovered.

Taking cognizance into the matter all the gamblers were booked and regarding the incident case FIR No. 13/2023 U/S 13 of  Gambling Act stands registered in *Police station Devsar*. Further investigation into the matter has been initiated.

People of the area have appreciated the role of police for being prompt against such social evils. Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt strictly as per law. Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding anti-social activity in their vicinity.
