Solar light scam of six crore rupees exposed in Kashmir's Kupwara..

According to ACB, KPDCL in Kupwara district has issued bills of six crore rupees from the financial treasury for installing street solar lights, however, the ground level investigation found that these lights were not installed gone.

Jammu and Kashmir's Anti-Corruption Bureau (Anti-Corruption Bureau) has uncovered a 6 crore solar street light scam in Kupwara district in which the executive engineer of Kashmir Power Distribution Company Limited (KPDCL)

ACB said that Electric Division Kupwara and Terhgam issued 66 bills in the name of installing 2685 solar lights with a total amount of Rs.6 crore twelve lakh. According to the ACB, on April 4, when the ECB team in Kupwara and the concerned Deputy Tehsildars (Executive Magistrates) investigated the deployment of these solar lights at various locations, it was revealed that at any point in the district No solar lights installed.

According to ACB, Kupwara District Commissioner Diophod Dattare Sagar has approved two plans to deploy solar lights on March 11 and 13, followed by Executive Engineer PDCL Shamim Ahmed Shamim on March 11 and 13. Tenders were issued on March itself and four private companies were given contracts to install these lights. According to the ACB, the stunt executive engineers of Kupwara and Terhgam sub-dozens did not approve these contracts as they wrote that their offices had not made any estimates for these works and they had not received solar light.

*He further wrote that as the year 2021 and 2022 financial year is nearing its end, it is impossible to complete such a huge amount of work in two or four days. According to ACB, instead of stunt executive engineers, the executive engineer took signatures of stunt executive engineer stores, Mudassar Ismail and junior engineer Manzoor Hasan Chaudhary, and issued bills of Rs.6 crore. ACB said these bills have been issued illegally and criminal action will be taken against the officers involved separately. ACB has suggested to the management.
