IQAC GDC Doda in collaboration with Dept. of Zoology organized a one day workshop on MOOCs Designing and E-Learning Technologies

IQAC GDC Doda in collaboration with Dept. of Zoology organized a one day workshop on “MOOCs Designing and E-Learning Technologies” on 3rd of May 2023 under the patronship of Principal GDC Doda Dr Attar Singh Kotwal. Dr Ashok Kumar Head Department of Computer Science and IT Bhaderwah Campus University of Jammu acted as Resource Person. 

Dr Ajaz A Wani Head Department of Zoology GDC Doda, being an organizing Secretary of the workshop were assisted by co-organizing Secretaries namely Astt. Prof. Imteyaz Ahmed and Dr Neelam Saba from Department of Zoology GDC Doda along with other members of IQAC in successfully organizing the event. Prof. K. K. Manhas, Head Department of Education GDC Doda acted as the convener of the workshop. Two technical Sessions formed the main part of the program. Workshop began with the inaugural function presided by Principal GDC Doda Dr Attar Singh Kotwal. Organizing Secretary gave a detailed welcome address in which all the guests, faculty and students were extended heartiest welcome. Dr Kuldeep Kumar Sharma, Principal GDC Bhaderwah acted as the chief guest of the inaugural function where as the Prof. Basharat Iqbal, Principal GDC Thathri and Prof. Babu Ram, Retired Associate Prof. acted as the guest of honor and special guest respectively. A book on "Medical Parasitology" compiled by Dr Ajaz A Wani and Dr Shivesh Ved, for the students of NEP 2nd Sem was also released in the inaugural function. Whole inaugural function was coordinated by Dr Jamsheed Ahmed, Head Dept. of English GDC Doda and vote of thanks was presented by Dr Jagmohan Sharma, Head Dept. of Hindi, GDC Doda.

 
The Technical Session followed the inaugural function with a short tea break in between. Dr Ashok Kumar Head Dept. of Computer Science and IT Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu delivered wonderful lectures as a resource person. Two sessions were discontinued by lunch break in between. The session was mind blowing and many things required for designing MOOCs were made clear to the participating faculty. Many new online platforms like Canvas, Bigblue Button, Moodle etc. were not only explained rather detailed demonstrations were given and faculty was engaged in various activities therein. Interactive sessions left indelible impressions on the minds of participating faculty and made them to explore many new areas of e-learning technologies. 

Valedictory Session marked the last program of the workshop and was presided by Principal GDC Doda. Dr Pooja Vimesh, Principal GMC Doda graced the occasion as chief guest where as Prof. Z. A. Hashmi, former Principal and COE Cluster University of Jammu acted as guest of honor. All the participating faculty was awarded with certificates of participation. Whole program was coordinated by Prof. Imteyaz Ahmed, Dept. of Zoology GDC Doda. Many faculty members from in and around the college including from other districts attended the program. The program culminated with the vote of thanks by Convener Workshop Prof. K. K. Manhas, Head Dept. of Education GDC Doda.
