DODA POLICE DETECTED LARGE SCALE DAMAGE OF GREEN TREES , SEIZED ILLICIT TIMBER IN HUGE QUANTITY (205 WOODEN LOGS) IN BHOWAN FOREST OF GANDOH AREA.
           
In a statement issued by Doda Police it was told that acting on a specific information a Police Party of Police Station Gandoh led by Inspr. Vikram Singh, SHO Police Station Gandoh has seized a huge quantity of illicit timber in  Bhowan forest area of  Gandoh. The  illicit timber was found to have extracted by Jamsheed Ahmed son of Abdul Qayoom Khan and Shahbaz Ahmed Khan son of son of Nazam Din Khan both resident of village Sanwara tehsil Gandoh after cutting down green  standing trees illegally in the forest area of compartment No. 46/BH Gandoh and stolen wooden logs for selling purpose illegally. Both the accused persons have been arrested and the logs have been seized from the spot.

 Upon this, a case FIR NO.72/2023 under relevant sections has been registered in Police Station Gandoh and investigation of the case has been started.  
 
 Doda Police has launched special drive against the timber smugglers and so far a number of timber smugglers have been booked and huge quantity of illicit timber has been seized at multiple locations in the District.
