District Police Kulgam arrests a notorious drug peddler; Contraband substance recovered

Kulngam/Nov:23:> Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Kulgam Police have arrested a notorious drug Peddler and recovered Poppy Straw like contraband substance from his possession.  A police party of Police Post Mirbazar headed by IC PP Mirbazar established a Naka at *Alstop Chowk* and intercepted one vehicle (Alto Car) bearing Registration No. JK13H-0311 with one person namely; *Safeer Ahmad Dar S/O Ghulam Rasool Dar R/O Turka Tachloo, Anantnag* on board. During search, 5.2 Kgs of *Poppy Straw* like contraband substance filled in a nylon bag was recovered. The said person was arrested and vehicle used in commission of crime has been seized. 

Accordingly, a case with FIR No. 258/2023 U/S 8/15 of NDPS act has been registered at Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been initiated.

People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law.
