"Traffic congestion in the Doda City "

Residents of Doda city are increasingly frustrated with the perceived inaction of the traffic department. Despite rising traffic congestion and frequent road mishaps, the presence of traffic personnel is notably scarce on the roads. They are mostly seen during specific operations like nakas (checkpoints), while regular traffic management seems neglected.
Lack of Traffic Personnel on Roads,One of the main complaints is the absence of traffic police during peak hours and in busy areas. This absence leads to unmanaged intersections, causing traffic jams and increasing the risk of accidents. Many feel that traffic police are only visible during naka operations, which are periodic and not a solution for daily congestion issues.Without the regular presence of traffic police to direct and manage the flow, drivers often resort to erratic driving, further exacerbating congestion. The lack of enforcement of traffic rules leads to chaotic road conditions, especially in areas with narrow streets and high vehicle density.The infrequent presence of traffic police also raises safety concerns. Poorly managed traffic can lead to increased accidents, putting both drivers and pedestrians at risk. Moreover, the absence of enforcement encourages violations like overspeeding, illegal parking, and reckless driving.

Recommendations for Improvement.

Increased Presence of Traffic Police,Regular deployment of traffic personnel from Gas Agency to District Police Line Doda and in other  key areas during peak hours can significantly improve traffic management. Continuous monitoring and active engagement with drivers can help enforce traffic rules and reduce violations.Utilizing technology for real-time traffic monitoring and management can aid in controlling congestion. Systems like synchronized traffic lights in the junctions and surveillance cameras can assist in regulating traffic flow without requiring constant human presence.Educating the public about traffic rules and the importance of following them can foster a more disciplined driving culture. Community engagement initiatives can help in spreading awareness and reducing traffic-related issues.Addressing the root cause of congestion by improving road infrastructure, creating more parking spaces, and establishing dedicated lanes for different types of vehicles can also alleviate traffic woes.
The traffic situation in Doda city calls for immediate attention and action from the traffic department. By increasing the presence of traffic personnel and leveraging technology for better traffic management, the city can address its congestion issues and ensure safer roads for its residents.
