The Department of Community Medicine, Government Medical College (GMC) Doda,  today  15-11-2025 organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on “One Health Initiative”, as part of the nationwide month-long activities under the joint banner of IAPSM and ICMR.

The event was held under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Bahl, Principal, GMC Doda, and under the supervision of Dr. Suresh Kotwal, Head, Department of Community Medicine. Both highlighted the need for an integrated One Health approach to effectively address emerging human–animal–environment health challenges.

The CME featured combined deliberations by Dr. Suresh Kotwal (HOD, Community Medicine), Dr. Aishiya Ishrat (HOD Microbiology), Dr. Walied K. Balwan (Nodal Officer – One Health Initiative), Dr. Imran Zaffer (Senior Resident), and Dr. Abrar (Demonstrator), who collectively contributed to the academic discussions of the program.

The event witnessed active participation from faculty members and undergraduate MBBS students.

The program concluded with a joint vote of thanks and felicitation ceremony organized by the Department of Community Medicine, during which all speakers were honored with mementos in appreciation of their contributions.

The department reaffirmed its commitment to advancing public health awareness and strengthening collaborative academic platforms in alignment with the One Health vision.
