All Major and Internal Roads Cleared After Snowfall in Lolab: Exn R&B Hilal Abbasi

Road connectivity across the Lolab Valley has been largely restored after successful snow clearance operations on all major and internal roads. This was stated by Executive Engineer (Exn), R&B Division Lolab, Hilal Abbasi, while speaking to the media today.

He said that continuous snowfall over the past few days had disrupted normal movement in the valley, following which the department initiated snow clearance work on a priority basis. According to him, all important roads have been cleared and made motorable, while snow removal is still underway in a few upper and high-altitude areas affected by severe slipperiness.

Hilal Abbasi explained that during snowfall, the department follows a well-defined priority system, giving first preference to roads leading to hospitals, fire and emergency services, and main market areas. Once these essential routes are restored, attention is shifted towards clearing link roads connecting villages and rural habitations.

The Executive Engineer urged the public to cooperate and remain patient during adverse weather conditions, assuring them that snow clearance is a continuous process. He added that R&B teams remain deployed on the ground to ensure safe movement and uninterrupted connectivity across the Lolab Valley.
