Kupwara/09/March: The 98 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organised a free medical camp in the remote area of Zarhama Gujjar Pati, Awoora in Kupwara. The camp was held under the Civic Action Programme on the occasion of the 87th Raising Day of CRPF, with the aim of promoting public welfare and providing medical facilities to the local population.
The camp was inaugurated by Commandant J P Shahi, in the presence of other CRPF officers and personnel. The programme was organised under the supervision and coordination of Deputy Commandant B K Mishra, who ensured the successful conduct of the event and better outreach with the local community.
During the camp, a team of experienced doctors and medical staff provided free medical check-ups, health consultations, and essential medicines to local residents. The initiative proved especially beneficial for poor and underprivileged families who often lack access to quality healthcare in this remote border area.
A large number of local residents, including women, elderly people, and children, attended the medical camp and benefited from the healthcare services. The locals appreciated the humanitarian initiative of CRPF and expressed gratitude for bringing medical assistance to their doorstep.
Residents said that such programmes help strengthen trust and cooperation between security forces and the public and play an important role in promoting healthcare and social development in remote areas like Zarhama, Awoora, and surrounding villages.
