In a significant milestone in the fight against drug trafficking, Doda Police conducted a successful raid at Sadeeq Abad Mohalla Dhak under the ongoing ‘Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan’.
On April 26, a dedicated team from District Police Doda, led by Addl. Superintendent of Police Hqrs. Doda Sh. Mohamad Aslam, DySP Sh. Krishan Rattan, and SHO Sh. Tariq Ahmed, carried out the operation based on credible intelligence inputs.

The operation targeted four individuals suspected of actively involved in the illegal trafficking of heroin (commonly known as “chitta”):
- Zareena Begum W/o Late Ghulam Ali
- Heena Begum @ Takri W/o Zaheer Abbas (currently absconding; search ongoing)
- Shabeena Banoo D/o Late Ghulam Ali
- Zaheer Abbas S/o Mohammad Iqbal Lohar
(all residents of Sadeeq Abad, Dhak Mohalla Doda)
An FIR No. 93/2026 under Sections 08/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Doda, leading to immediate investigative action.
During the raid, police apprehended Zareena Begum, Shabeena Banoo, and Zaheer Hussain. The search operation resulted in the recovery of:
Approximately 85 grams of heroin-like substance
99 grams of charas
₹23,12,160 cash
24 Android mobile phones

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the arrested individuals were part of an organized local network involved in drug trafficking. Efforts are underway to establish backward linkages to identify the source suppliers of the contraband and forward linkages to trace local distributors and street-level peddlers. The investigation aims to dismantle the entire narcotics supply chain. Efforts are also ongoing to apprehend the absconding accused and uncover the full extent of the criminal network involved.
