Vaccination drive of Stray cattle against Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) in Doda

A vaccination drive of stray cattle against Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) was
started today on 24-09-22 by the Animal Husbandry Department Doda under the
able guidance of Worthy Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Doda, Dr. Mayan ud Din
Gures and Dr. Aijaz Hussain Patigaroo, Livestock Development Officer Bhaderwah
in collaboration with the staff of Municipal Committee Doda. Two teams were
constituted for the drive. Dr. Imran Magray, VAS DVH Doda, Dr. Suhail Lone, CP
Doda lead the teams in and around the municipal area. Around 42 stray cattle
found roaming in the municipal area were vaccinated against the LSD.
The general public was also made aware about the disease and its
preventive measures. Special stress was given to control the flies and mosquitoes
that act as main cause of the disease spread. Also general public was appealed to
not let their animals outside as they can catch the disease and be the reason for
its spread in the municipality.
