World Immunization Week 2025 Celebrated at GMC Doda

GMC Doda celebrated World Immunization Week 2025 with great enthusiasm and academic vigor. The programme was conducted under the overall guidance of Dr. Suresh Kotwal, Head of the Department of Community Medicine, and witnessed active participation from faculty and students across various departments.

The event was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Bahl, Principal GMC Doda, who delivered an insightful address emphasizing the pivotal role of immunization in global health and disease prevention.

This year’s theme, “Humanly Possible: Immunization for All”, was at the heart of all activities and discussions, underscoring the importance of making vaccines accessible and equitable worldwide.

Students contributed through poster presentations, interactive seminars, and awareness activities, aimed at educating peers and promoting public health awareness.

Dr. Imran Zaffer, Senior Resident, delivered a comprehensive presentation elaborating on the theme, focusing on current immunization strategies, challenges, and the way forward for achieving universal vaccine coverage.

A heartfelt vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Walied K. Balwan, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Medicine, who acknowledged the efforts of organizers, participants, and supporting staff.
Participation certificates were distributed by esteemed faculty members including Dr. Sumat ul Khursheed (Pathology), Dr. Khalid Muzaffer (Orthopaedics), and Dr. Altaf Malik (General surgery).

The programme concluded on a high note, fostering awareness and reaffirming the institution's commitment to preventive healthcare and community well-being through immunization advocacy.
