A major controversy has erupted in shahi hamdaan school Cherakoot Lolab after parents accused a local private school of supplying science textbooks with manipulated and inflated prices. According to parents, the books provided to students had a new price sticker placed directly over the original printed price, suggesting an intentional attempt to overcharge families.

The original price printed by the publisher is clearly visible beneath the new sticker, raising serious concerns about possible illegal pricing practices by either the school administration or the partnered bookseller.

Parents described the incident as a form of financial exploitation, particularly harmful for middle-class and low-income families who already struggle with rising educational expenses. They further stated that schools are meant to support children’s academic journey, not create additional burdens through such unethical methods.

Several parents came forward claiming that they had no option but to buy the books from the school-designated seller, making them victims of an unfair system where artificial price inflation leaves them helpless.
