Kulgam Police has continued its Actions against drug peddlers, arrests two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession

Kulgam Police while continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society and the back to back actions against the drug peddlers are being taken out in the district with the aim of bringing drug peddling to the zero level .

In this regard a police party of Police station DH Pora headed by *SHO DH Pora* established a checkpoint (Naka) at *Kounsarbal* and during checking one person namely; *Aejaz Ahmad Malik S/O Abdul Rashid Malik R/O Ahmadabad* moving in suspicious condition was intercepted, who after noticing police party tried to flee from the spot. He was chased by the alert police party and apprehended tactfully. After his personal search, officers present were able to recover *110 gram of Charas* like contraband substance from his possession.

Similarly in another case, the police party from Police station Qazigund led by *SHO Qazigund* established a specific Naka at *Dalwach, Qazigund* and  during checking one person namely; *Gazanfar Ahmad Wani S/O Mohammad Yousuf Wani R/O Banihal* moving in suspicious condition was noticed and subsequently intercepted. During his personal search, officers present were able to recover *02 gram of Brown Sugar* like contraband substance from his possession. He was arrested on spot.

Regarding the incidents, case with FIR No. *16/2023* U/S 8/20 NDPS Act stands registered at *Police Station DH Pora*, and Case with FIR No. *48/2023* U/S 8/21 of NDPS Act stands registered at *Police Station Qazigund* respectively and investigation is in progress in both cases.

Community members are requested to extend cooperation to police and to share the information regarding anti-social activity in their neighbourhood with nearby police unit so that timely action against the culprits will be taken.
