Kulgam Police observed Thana Diwas

Kulgam Police continuing its Public outreach programmes today held *'Thana Diwas' functions at Police stations of Kulgam, Qazigund, Yaripora, Devsar and Kund* and the meetings were chaired by respective jurisdictional Police officers. The events were attended by various respectable citizens of surrounding areas of Town Kulgam, Qazigund, Yaripora, Frisal, Kanchloo, Kund, Pahloo, Sopat and Devsar. 

On the occasion, participants highlighted various issues of public importance, and they were assured that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority and that of civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal*. While speaking on the occasion, it was reiterated that policing at grassroot level in the district will be revamped to enhance its capabilities and proficiencies and to develop confidence among the common people.Chairing officers while speaking on the occasions, said that *Thana Diwas* is an initiative started by the Government of J&K to bridge the gap between Police and Public and also to hear and redress the grievances of common masses and further added that Community policing is mandatory to boost public confidence which would help in fighting against crime and social evils.The participants were stressed to co-operate with Kulgam Police in maintaining Law and order in the areas and to identify the anti national and anti-social elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment.
