WORLD HEALTH DAY 2023

The World Health Day 2023 was celebrated with enthusiasm by Department of Community Medicine, Government Medical College Doda with focus on current year’s theme "Health for All", envisioning all people to have good health for a fulfilling life in a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable world. For this to realize, individuals and communities should have access to quality health services, healthy life style (nutrition, physical activity, abstinence from drugs/alcohol) to enable them to take care of their own and their families’ health.

During the occasion, an interactive session was organised by the Department of Community Medicine in the auditorium of the college. Dr Walied K Balwan, Senior Resident gave the introductory remarks and spoke about the current public health problems and its impact. As this year marks 75th anniversary of WHO, Dr Suresh K Kotwal, Head of Department of Community Medicine, delivered lecture on the global scenario, achievements and present day challenges in Public Health sector around the globe especially India.

During the occasion, various events like seminars and poster presentation were held. The MBBS students participated enthusiastically in these events. Later on,the appreciation certificates and trophies were also distributed among the MBBS students.

 The event was attended by HOD Community Medicine Dr Suresh K Kotwal under the guidance of worthy Principal Dr Puja Vimesh alongwith logisitic support by Chief Accounts Officer Mr Mohd Iqbal and support by staff of the Department of Community Medicine and Audio-Visual section of GMC Doda.

 

    Later on, the session ended with a vote of thanks by Dr Walied K Balwan.

 

   Similar programmes were also held in Urban Health Training Centre (UHTC) Ghat and Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC) Bhalla.
